R.A.R.E. Bookclub - (Reading And Rapping Experience) was founded on September 7, 1997 by Salena D. Castle with the assistance of Yolanda Marshall.
Mission: Our mission is to infuse intellectual minds, strengthen sisterhood, offer our time and service within the community and build lasting relationships through literary genre.
Purpose: It is our ultimate goal and desire to network with bookclubs, coordinate and host authors book signing events and all other literary influences as we promote the importance of literacy.
We meet every six (6) weeks at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday to discuss the featured book by a Black/African Americn author chosen by designated member.
Membership is capped at twelve (12) women.
